V-Sync And Frame Lock (CORRECTED ORIGINAL POST)įorcing Vsync in the nvidia control panel no longer works correctly since the last nvidia driver update 452.06.
Fsx nvidia inspector full#
Full screen is still recommended, more so if running the DEV menu to test Frame rate rather then Nvidia or AMD Hardware frame detection. It’s the player preference as neither of the options provides any noticeable increase in the game’s performance. Microsoft Flight Simulator has only tow options for its “Display Mode” setting, Fullscreen and Windowed.
Not to push the GPU full throttle from basic areas. Goal to have a nice looking game with a little room for complex areas. I9 8 Core 9800k(F) with Nvidia RTX 2080 TI (Standard clocks for testing) I9 8 Core 9800k with Nvidia RTX 2080 Super Special Edition (clocks set to defaults for tests) I7 4 Core 10700k with Nvidia GTX 1080TI (OC set back to standard clocks for testing) Test Systems: (No Overclocking to provide a reference standard) Optimal performance recommendation (with some of my high end system increases that I corrected) Memory leaks and other glitches are declining performance across the boards since the Alpha and Beta Final build. Until they fine tune this game, this may help. Over scaling will cause decrease in performance, the ultra setting for that over scales to your native resolution. FOR 4k Keep some things the same, especially render scaling. I had to make corrections to aspects that no longer apply, or will bottleneck new RTX GPU’sįirst off optimal performance will be in 1080p. This guide may help you a bit and was based on DAVID FLINCH and his original website info, who explains it well. The settings via NVIDIA Control Panel are much better (when they work). Some may not understand how certain settings work, or not realize they are in fact over rendering to resolution and causing a decline in performance with no visual increase.

I did however have Asus GPU Tweak installed in the past, I don't think this can limit your FPS, but if it can, do you think a setting could have been left behind? (I don't think this is possible without the software though.)įlight Simulator X is indeed the game that does not have the option for internal vsync. I do not have any video card software installed, or any other software that forces a frame rate limit externally. I have turnoff ALL frame limiters, in NVIDIA Control Panel, NVIDIA Inspector, and in-game as well. That means you have to turn off the Nvidia Inspector FPS limiter, Rivaturner, MSI Afterburner, and other means in which you might have been trying to turn it on.Īlso, is this a game that doesn't have a V-sync option? You can't always force it on if the game doesn't allow it (it's usually the other way around though). FSX however, does not have an in-game option for that.ĭo you still have the FPS limiter on? As I mentioned, V-sync and all other forms of syncing will not work with the FPS limiter in place. I cannot force VSync externally via NVIDIA Control Panel or NVIDIA Inspector, only works in-game. I turned it off and tried forcing it to on via NVIDIA Control Panel and it didn't work, so my GPU does not seem to be broken. It worked in GTA V, but only via in-game settings. Then tried GTA V, just to check if VSync was working at all on my computer. Tried forcing global settings via NVIDIA Control Panel, and set VSync 1/2 Adaptive.

I reinstalled the newer driver (clean install option). I checked my settings, and checked again, and decided to roll back to an older NVIDIA driver with which VSync used to work a few years ago, when I was actively using FSX. This time it was running between 40-70 FPS, which is more than sufficient for VSync 1/2. It would always run at 30 in the past if I forced VSync 1/2. Frames were running unlimited instead the 30 I hoped for. I fired up the sim and noticed the AA settings were working, but noticed VSync would not work. I checked my settings in NVIDIA Inspector and everything was fine.
Fsx nvidia inspector windows 10#
I went away from FSX for a few years, installed Windows 10 in the mean time.
This resulted in a fluid 30 FPS gaming experience without suttering. I had always used NVIDIA Inspector to apply custom settings for anti-aliasing, and used standard vsync + 1/2 refresh rate. For years I had been playing Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
